It's so sad how nonchalantly they've taken this process. Frustrating as hell.

I fear that we are going to see some missed games, unfortunately

We will miss some games....we will probably see back to back to back games again. I doubt this will have any affect on the final outcome with the Arena. Well at least I hope not

The NBA and players union are meeting tonight to try and work out the CBA before the Monday deadline. Here's the link

Since they met does that mean the PA agreed to the 50-50 split?

The players said they wouldn't agree to anything in advance, but since then no solid information has come out. Fisher did apparently say they were "not necessarily" any further along in negotiation, but it's now come to attention that the BRI split wasn't part of yesterdays discussion. So they likely discussed just the system yesterday and today at 2 we'll see what happens.

The worst part is this most likely wont even fix whats wrong with the current system - they're all just worried about what's going into their back pocket and in a couple years, we'll be doing this again.

The worst part about the current situation is after 4 weeks of missed games there literally won't be enough BRI to equal what the players would get with a 50-50 deal iif they settle it now. They're shooting themselves in the feet.

Sounds like they might get some of the snags done today

Yep those poor babies. The "man" is keeping them down. They have nothing at all to do with this situation. I guess they need $20M contracts to feed their children though, just like poor Sprewell. :raisedeyebrow:

They lose out so much. There is way too much immature pride, and egotistic ways that conflict with better sense. Its almost like democrates/republicans fighting. Its all one sided, but the players Even if the players settled for everything the owners wanted, they'd still make out better than just about any profession in the world. Fix a few snags, and call it a day. Instead they wanted more money, more concessions than what is reasonable. Sadly, in the end they will be forced to finally give in a lot more to the owners only to find that this whole fight was never worth it.

I just want to see the Kings and the growth of their young core. Screw Fisher, Amare, Carmelo, Wade and the rest of the guys who are full of it.

It's as if they forget that they all made careers in entertainment. This is supposed to be all "about the fan". It's like they're forgetting how lucky they are to be able to play basketball and make more money than people who actually work for a living. Color me disgusted.

If this does go on for a while, at least until the end of the year - or even longer, I really wonder what type of reaction you'll get from the fanbases.

People really turned on baseball for a while when their strike extended. I question if it would have ever returned to it's current form if not for the Sosa/Big Mac situation which captured so many.

Also?

Two cameramen, one representing Reuters, and another from an unnamed company got into a street brawl after fighting for space to interview NBPA president Derek Fisher.

Watch for huge price hikes on game tickets. Owners gotta make the money back somehow
