We are in the meat of the bowl season, and most of the toilet bowls are out of the way.
Today: Two bowls.
Military Bowl - Toledo (MAC, High-scoring, no-huddle offense, Eric Page is a fun wideout to watch). VS Air Force (Mainly a running team, use the option, they do throw it about 15-20 times a game. Also, a no-huddle offense).
This is an interesting matchup containing two average teams. But the matchup is what is gonna make this fun to watch. Both these have the potential to run 90+ plays in the game (usually its about 70 in college). It's a matchup of two contrasting styles but both teams run plays quick, and I don't get to watch a lot of triple option football, so I want to see how AF operates, and if they run less because they're playing a Pass Heavy team in Toledo (or if they fall behind big, I want to see if they abandon the run at all).
Second game features Texas and California. Two big conference schools going at it in the Holiday Bowl (San Diego). I'll have more on this game later as the kickoff isn't until 7 PM CT, 5 PM PT.
The Toledo/AF game just kicked off, so I'm going to focus on that game for now.
I know that most of you (if you do follow college) probably follow USC/UCLA/Stanford, but Cal is a pretty big school. And their football team is generally good for 7-9 wins. They just haven't taken that 'next step' like a Stanford has. But any Cal fans out there?

AF was forced to throw on 3rd and long. The pass was complete but a few yards short.
On 4th and 2, AF faked going for it and the QB quick punted LOL! But the punt went only 15 yards! The announcer said, "It looked like a major league pop up" Haha.
Toledo up 3-0, and getting the ball back with good field position.
Ok, another thing that I'm looking for in this game is some sort of continuity. Previous bowl games were marred with injuries, penalties, turnovers, and the referees reviewing plays. It just got to the point where it was frustrating watching the game because as soon as one team would drive and build momentum, they'd lose the ball, or a player would go down, or the ref would take 5 minutes to review a play. This made the game slow down, and it made both teams look bad, because it was so hard to sustain a good drive.

This game is being played at the Nationals park. And the crowd is dead.
Toledo just scored an easy touchdown on a slant. 10-0.

Nevermind, it's 7-0. Toledo missed a FG earlier, I thought they made it.

No defense from AF. 1 play after the fumble, Thomas runs in for a 41 yard touchdown. 14-0

Thanks for starting the thread, IowaSacKing93 (http://kingsforum.net/live/member.php?9-IowaSacKing93). Yes, there should be some Cal fans. Cal has a lot of fans too, I just don't know if they check these boards.
For what it's worth, dutch_litchford started a thread "OT: Cal Golden Bears" 3-4 years ago.
As for the first game: Holy Toledo! Looked like a great game. Wish I had more play-by-play from you, in the second half.
Cal down 3-7 at halftime, to Texas.

It was a good game, it's just that the environment wasn't good (the announcers, the crowd etc..). I know those are only minor factors, but with me, they're important when really trying to enjoy a game. I fell asleep in the third quarter and when I woke up, the game was over LOL. Cal-Texas has been a decent game, I've been half-watching. Hopefully I'm back for the end.

High scoring. Florida St. also beat Notre Dame.
So give me your keys to the Iowa - Oklahoma game. And don't you have another running back that's good other than Coker? What code of conduct did he break? Did he cheat on a test?

No we don't. Canzeri ran the ball 22 times for 53 yards for a stellar 2.2 yard average (sarcasm). We didn't play terrible though. Just a stale and predictable offense with very limited weapons. Oklahoma just took what we gave them and built a nice lead. Then we had a little mini-comeback late but Oklahoma is too good to blow that big of a lead (as opposed to an average team like Pitt that allowed us to come back).

What do you think is going to happen with the Iowa coach?
