I love Philly fans. Chants of "We don't miss you" to Salmons, "Overrated" to Jimmer and "Anaheim" to the entire team haha

Evans should have about 10 assists right now...fuck this team

Jimmer's from New York, which is problem one. Second problem is they don't like anybody - even their own players.

this team can't shoot for shit

They're pretty good at shooting themselves in the feet though.

Glad to see the Kings are just as bad as ever. They didn't quit on Westphal, they haven't quit on Smart...they just blow.

Bad shooting, no passing, stupid dumb dumb plays, and bad defense.

Gerald has sounded sick the past few days. Or else his voice is waning due to age. :(

I heard Thomas had some nice plays earlier in the game. How was his shooting?

Sub-par. He was okay though - which means he was the best guard on the court for the Kings by far. lol

He has a lot of nice movements, but nothing special. Then again as Eze said, that was a step above everyone else. The team overall was very lethargic, trademark passes to the opposing team and zero defense. It just was bad across the board.

Surprisingly Outlaw and Salmons brought nothing today. Who would expect that?

I'm really hoping Thomas can be a good 2nd string guard at some point in his development, not just a backup guard that any team would have. I'm hoping he's a cut above the Randy Foye or T.J. Ford types that are on rosters this year.

Evans wasn't good? He was scoring a lot in the 1st quarter. I guess he dropped off in the 2nd half?

Why does Detroit have so many guards? Will Bynum. Rodney Stuckey. Ben Gordon. Brandon Knight. The first three can't shoot. I'm wondering if the rookie is going to be able to shoot more than 3's.

He was pretty terrible. Jogged back up and down the court, and that was when he decided it was okay not to speed walk. Never passed. Took horrible shots. Stood around and dribbled for 15 seconds before taking a 19 foot fadeaway, etc, etc.

He and Cousins both filled in their stat sheets in the 4th when they were down by 30. Smart said he put them both back in because they're essentially out of shape.

Joe Dumars is an awful GM.

The Kings could have a real PG (Brandon Knight) and wouldn't have crappy Salmons if Petrie hadn't made the most puzzling draft day trade in a long time. Not one NBA "insider"/"expert" thought it was a good move and most were befuddled as to why the Kings would bring back another guy that dominates the ball. Well, we are seeing firsthand why this move was questioned pretty much across the board. Petrie needs to go. He hasn't made a good move in a long time IMO (maybe the Thornton move excepted, although that was in essence for KMart).

As of right now, Knight has an assist % of 19.9%. That's a bit worse than even what Evans and Tony Parker did as rookies. Fredette has other issues, but he has an assist % of 18.2%. Neither is that good for a rookie, ideally they'd be up to at least 24% of their possessions.

It's possible Knight is a better PG, I haven't seen him play yet. Just going by the stats. The Kings play them twice, and Detroit also has two nationally televised games in April (if they're not dropped), so I'll try to watch him then. Or on some random NBA light day.

I'd trade Kmart for Thornton any day of the week. Petrie has been excellent drafting, but as far as any other trades or free agent moves he has been horrible. Last year his big free agent signings were Luther Head, Pooh Jeter, and Antonie Wright. This year its Outlaw and Hayes. I didn't expect the team to be major players in the FA market, but sheesh this team settles on serious crap.

Head, Jeter, Wright, Outlaw all suck. They're another set of Mikki Mooores.

Hayes, too early to write him off. When he comes back from his injury, let's see how he fits in. It might take some time for him to adjust playing for a new team, and now Smart. I think he can still find a way to contribute.

And agree, the FAs I wanted were higher caliber players. Kirilenko, David West, Humphries. Humphries isn't playing quite as well this year, but is still averaging a double-double. It also didn't take as much to get Dalembert as I thought, I thought he was going to get a 4 year deal. Next year's FA class sucks hard outside of the superstars, no good 2nd tier players. They're all just a bunch of Mikki Moores again.

But if Hayes can't fit in, then that will be years of wasted FAs. Kings could have gotten Reggie Evans then instead of Hayes. He would have been cheaper and easier to integrate.

Back to Detroit's guards, what bothers me is that neither Bynum, Stuckey, or Gordon have a good midrange game. Nor do they get to the basket a ton. They don't have a good skill set for scoring, considering that's what their roles are supposed to be.

About Minnesota, Ridnour is playing well too.

Back to the Kings, does this team appear to get dejected too easily? Evans, Thompson seem to get down this season. Evans especially I'd like to see the confidence that a leader should start to display.

Yes they do. They just have no confidence that they can keep the team in the game. Things go wrong and they hang their heads and look so disappointed. Not one you can give the ball to, and they find a way to get the team back in. Too one dimensional.

As for Tyreke being a leader, that may be too much to ask. Not only does he have a quiet personality on/off the court, but look how he plays. Does a leader jog up and down the court half the game and expel a lack of confidence in both himself and team? If the team is playing off Tyreke's energy right now they are in trouble. He has to show more concern and energy during the course of games. Thats also why he isn't fit to be a point guard. He doesn't work well with others, create, and you'd never call him a floor general.

Tyreke at SF in the future?

Personally I've given up hope in Tyreke to grow into the point guard role. Usually by year 3, you see growth within good players. He is the same player as before. Same as Thompson who is now in his 4th year. Tyreke at SF in the future?

Smart kind of shit on him last night in the presser saying he couldn't teach "getting back". Little backhanded, but I got it.

I do think the Kings need to get past this image of Tyreke being their stud though they've tried to sell. I'm not saying trading him is the right move, butttttt, I don't think it would hurt to explore the market either.
