Former New Orleans Saints receiver Joe Horn was on.
* Says it doesn't matter where the game is played. "The game could be played in Antarctica". He doesn't think the Saints play worse on the road.
* He doesn't think the upcoming game will be close. He thinks Saints will win by 14 at least.
* Doesn't think the 49ers can hold the Saints to below 30. He says for them to win, they would have to hold the Saints to below 30 for starters. He said the 49ers defense was good, but that it wouldn't stop the Saints offense.
* When asked about the game last year at Seattle, he said the Seahawks just threw the ball a lot, and they had at least 3 great receptions. Also recalled Lynch's drive. He doesn't think the 49ers will throw the ball like they did.
* He acknowledged that on any day, any team could be beaten, but he said based on history, he thinks the Saints will be great and their offense will be great.
* He has a BBQ sauce out. He said people are converting from KC Masterpiece or Sweet Baby Rays, to his. He said his is becoming a hit in the south. A portion of the proceeds also goes to women's shelters.

* He credited Alex Smith for improving as a player.

Sweet Baby Rays > All.
Horn was a good receiver. He had atleast 2-3 1,000 yard seasons in his prime with NO.
The thing I'll always remember him for is bringing out the cell phone during a TD celebration, lol.

Game is only half an hour away. I might be able to stay for the whole thing but not sure yet.
I don't think the Niners have given up more than 27 at home all year (actually in two seasons, they haven't), and that was on the last second touchdown when Dallas won with no time on the clock. Outside of that, the highest score an opponent has had is 20. Scoring 30, even for the Saints, is going to be pretty tough - especially given the fact the Niners will try to ball control.
Not to say the Niners wont lose, but Horn's a little biased. lol

I remember a few games after that, Horn attended a New Orleans Hornets game. Hugo made fun of Horn, and during a time out, went up to Horn and pulled out a big 90s style cell phone. I think Hugo must have planted the cell phone there.
This is the type of cell phone that I mean:

Horn was right about New Orleans scoring 30. But the 49ers still won. He was also right about Smith improving and playing well as a QB.
No one has even posted about Alex Smith on this board, lol. At least to me, he seems pretty good. I know he's not Brees or Rodgers, but he's still making big plays.
Alex is kind of like Andrew Bogut. For a #1 pick, he's pretty sub-par. All about expectations. And there's no doubt Harbaugh has given him new life - his confidence was shaken pretty hard.
Plus, given Rogers was a Cal guy, grew up in the area and the Niners whiffed on him for Smith - it's just something that will never be lived down.

Yeah, I know about the history and how Rodgers was a Cal guy.
I'm just focusing on this season though. He has been good. Right?
Was his confidence shaken? Even in prior years, someone else would send me long emails on how Smith's teammates still believed in him. And how he wanted to prove himself hence taking less money to play here. This was around July 2010. He then sent me the link to this article:

He's been good - though, I'd say he's been more smart than good. Instead of trying to be something he wasn't, Harbaugh's made him be who he is - a smart, game managing QB who has some high level skills.
Unlike before, he just tries to do the right thing and not the spectacular thing.
And when Nolan was here, he publicly castrated him calling him soft, with Singletary he more or less said similar things - it was a revolving door of QB changes.
I do admire him for sticking around though. Takes a lot of guts considering he was more or less the face of the Niners failures.

Good post. Agree.
And how about an Alex Smith jersey icon? I see one for Patrick Willis, but not Alex Smith?
Wait, nevermind. The Willis one wasn't a Jersey post icon? I don't see it available anymore. How did you do it?
How did you do it in the thread title then?
