I don't see a thread so Ill toss it up. Salmons still starting. JT starting for Hickson.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:16 PM
Kings with 2 early 3s and some missed easy shots.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:17 PM
Cousins misses both free throws. Thankfully the Pacers look as miserable as the Kings on offense.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:22 PM
Thornton with another 3. Kings looking pretty miserable again. Salmons though is unstoppable....cause he isn't doing anything so how could you stop nothing?
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:23 PM
They talked to Green before the game about how you get out of a shooting slump? Wow. How would he know, he hasn't come out of his since college.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:34 PM
This is rare. The Pacers are even worse on offense than the Kings. So many chances and so many fails. Tyreke loses the ball and Stevenson misses a wide open layup.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:36 PM
Luckily for the Pacers, the Kings are forcing a lot of crappy shots.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:42 PM
Tyreke gets swatted, fails a put back, but JJ is there to make it work on the third attempt. Tyreke to Hickson for the breakaway alleyoop! Tie game.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:42 PM
The Kings perimeter defense continues to be pathetic. As pathetic as a failed Jimmer entry pass to Amudson.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:43 PM
Hickson needs to cut out those forced shots. I like his rebounding and aggressiveness, but he gets ahead of himself too much.

Can't be here tonight but I just wanted to say Go Kings!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:49 PM
Well we know that Donte can't toss an alleyoop. Nice recovery and put in though by Cousins. Cousins scores again in the next timw down. 1 point game.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 08:50 PM
Jimmer with the running airball! Oh Isaiah, where art thou?

West with a 1 foot shot.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:04 PM
Cousins with a fadeaway. Brick.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:05 PM
Kings down by 4 with 2 minutes to go! Can they mount a comeback!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:07 PM
Thornton goes right by everyone, but misses the layup, JT misses the tip but commits a foul.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:08 PM
Cousins with the 17 footer!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:09 PM
Thornton's 3rd 3 cuts it back to 2.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:10 PM
Hickson makes his free throws to tie the game up!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:10 PM
Cousins with the technical foul though for shoving West. Granger gives the team 1 point lead.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:11 PM
Thornton with the sloppy pass leads ot a turnover. The turnover leads to a 2. 5 point Pacer lead.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:12 PM
Thornton launchers a Jimmer-like 3 with 6 seconds left to go and misses. 50-45 Pacers going into the half.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:13 PM
50-45 halftime.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:13 PM
Kings down by 4 with 2 minutes to go! Can they mount a comeback!
No, it was deferred to the 2nd half.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:13 PM
Hickson makes his free throws to tie the game up!
Yeah that was nice. Especially considering the FT shooting today.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:14 PM
Thornton launchers a Jimmer-like 3 with 6 seconds left to go and misses. 50-45 Pacers going into the half.
Cmon Thornton, you're not a rookie.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:24 PM
Cmon Thornton, you're not a rookie.
Experience matters not when you are a member of the Sacramento Kings!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:30 PM
Pacers start the half with a 3. Kings start the half with a Salmons pass to a Pacer player for a breakaway
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:30 PM
Evans to Cousins down low for the dunk.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:31 PM
Salmons with the 3! Start the MVP chants
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:32 PM
Granger makes it an 11 point lead. Time out Kings. Is it time for a total Kings meltdown?
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:36 PM
Whats this? Smart remember he had Isaiah in the lineup. Thomas to Garcia for 3!!!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:37 PM
Thornton with the offensive foul on a 2 on 1 breakaway. Thats what happens when you don't pass...
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:38 PM
Well, this Indiana game isn't the worst one I've seen.

Thornton continues to force up trash, but he gets to the line on his second chance.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:38 PM
Experience matters not when you are a member of the Sacramento Kings!
I love how Petrie gets players who play like Rookies. Next up, he'll, get players who play like D-Leaguers!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:38 PM
Thornton continues to force up trash, but he gets to the line on his second chance.
Thornton sucks this year. :(
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:39 PM
Thornton with the offensive foul on a 2 on 1 breakaway. Thats what happens when you don't pass...
Yeah that was bad.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:39 PM
Evans to Cousins down low for the dunk.
Evans has been initiating the offense decently the past week.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:40 PM
Stupid pass on a fast break.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:41 PM
Greene drives and misses a layup.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:41 PM
Yeah, Green was fouled.
bloatedmaniac

but that was one of the greatest games ever by Hall of Famer, Jason Hart.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:45 PM
Hibbert has 4 fouls and off to the bench. Kings got to go inside more now.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:45 PM
but that was one of the greatest games ever by Hall of Famer, Jason Hart.
Good observation. That was a decent game by him.
I thought Adelman was going to get fired after that game. Grant admitted as much a few days later, that he thought the Indiana game would have been it.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:45 PM
Hibbert has 4 fouls and off to the bench. Kings got to go inside more now.
Do you think they will?
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:45 PM
Cousins misses 2 ugly FTs, Garcia gets the board but loses it out of bounds.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:46 PM
Thornton goes to the line for the AND1 chance. He is in full Tyreke mode, but he came through this time. 10 point game.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:47 PM
T on Granger.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:47 PM

Thornton offensive foul on a pass and crash.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:53 PM
Yay cousins learned how to make FTs again.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:53 PM
Amundson beasting it.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:54 PM
This team is too impatient on offense. A corner 3 isn't the best shot when the Pacers have no one good inside.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:54 PM
Amundson beasting it.
I wish the Kings would try to score on him.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:56 PM
Travis Outlaw is in. Game is over by default
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:57 PM
Yep, he comes in, and misses a shot right away.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 09:57 PM
Rebound comes to Garcia. Garcia bobbles it around so Tyler grabs it and dunks it right by him.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:58 PM
Didn't Smart say he had things he picked up from last year, that he wanted to implement on his new coaching job? I'm not seeing anything innovative. Or even good.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 09:59 PM
Down 14 after three. I think they will come back!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:02 PM
Pacers scored 30 in the 3rd? Good god.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:02 PM
Garcia with a runner.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:04 PM
Outlaw for 3. His shot looks better than Fredette's.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:04 PM
Its the Travis outlaw show!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:05 PM
Tyreke with the chance for the 3 point play.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:06 PM
6 point game, timeout Indiana. I'm sure they are discussing how to stop Outlaw.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:06 PM
Evans to Thomas, brick. Evans gets the offensive rebound. He takes it to the rack, and-one!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:06 PM
6 point game, timeout Indiana. I'm sure they are discussing how to stop Outlaw.
No, they actually have a smart coaching staff. I'm sure they're discussing how to stop Evans and Thomas.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:08 PM
Humphries goes for 18-15 with 4 blocks. Kings got the wrong Net.

Evans with the airball. Sigh.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:09 PM
Evans to someone who bricks it. Thomas with the rebound!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:10 PM
Hansbrough travels. Man he sucks this year.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:10 PM
Didn't Smart say he had things he picked up from last year, that he wanted to implement on his new coaching job? I'm not seeing anything innovative. Or even good.
Now now. Im sure he didn't put Isaiah Thomas into the game last year. Thats pretty new. Seriously though, he comes off as more talk then anything else
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:11 PM
Vogel is thinking: "I can't believe we're letting the Sacramento Kings make a comeback".
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:11 PM
Oh god Outlaw, stop shooting.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:11 PM
Now now. Im sure he didn't put Isaiah Thomas into the game last year. Thats pretty new.
He did put Jeremy Lin though. With the way Fredette is playing, he's like the Sacramento Kings version of Lin.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:12 PM
What the fuck is up with these airballs?
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:12 PM
Now what will Smart draw up with .5 seconds left on the shotclock?
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:13 PM
82-76, 0.5 seconds left on shot clock after the timeout.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:13 PM
What the fuck is up with these airballs?
They are forcing it in order to get that one big shot, and aren't setting themselves properly.

01-18-2012, 10:17 PM
Cousins to Thomas, who gets fouled.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:17 PM

01-18-2012, 10:18 PM
Indy turnover! Kings ball.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:18 PM
Thomas to the line. Make your Free Throws.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:19 PM
Sorry Garcia, you can't make that pose after a made shot when the Kings are playing this badly.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:20 PM
He makes both! 84-82.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:21 PM
Kings fail to tie it. West now can make it a 5 point game at the free throw line.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:21 PM
Kings with another usual bad possession. West with the layup.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:22 PM
The Thornton show has been cancelled. He is shooting this team out of the game...then again everyone else is too but he is so one dimensional atm.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:22 PM
Thomas initiating the offense has failed the last two possessions.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:22 PM

nuraman00

Thomas with the steal but he misses the dunk. Thornton with the layup.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:24 PM
I'm not sure if he was fouled, I'd have to see from the left side angle.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:25 PM
Yeah he didn't seem to have the hops to really make it work. Should of layed it in! Speaking of which, he did it this time and got the 2!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:26 PM
Thornton steal, Thomas layup!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:26 PM

bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:26 PM
Granger with the foul, Garcia down, Kings ball with a chance to take the lead.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:26 PM
The Indiana Choke Job is on!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:27 PM
I predict Tyreke Evans will give the Kings the lead on the next possession.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:27 PM
Life is much better with Salmons, Jimmer and Outlaw on the bench
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:27 PM
I predict Thornton will make the basket to take the lead!
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:28 PM
Thomas to Thornton, brick.

01-18-2012, 10:28 PM

Do the Kings ever take an inside shot that doesn't happen on a fast break?
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:30 PM
and Garcia gives the Kings the lead from the line!
I agree!
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:30 PM

Cousins forces the turnover!!! Kings ball!
nuraman00

Who called it! :)
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:31 PM
Do the Kings ever take an inside shot that doesn't happen on a fast break?
Only rarely. They stick around the perimeter or slashes to the hoop almost exclusively. Kind of a waste of Cousins at times.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:31 PM
Evans misses an off balance shot.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:31 PM
Granger misses the 3! Thornton! Misses the 3, but Garcia steals it and gets fouled!!! Clutch hustle by Garcia
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:32 PM
Nooo Garcia misses the first free throw...in and out. Makes the second though! 2 point lead.
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:32 PM

Kind of a waste of being on the court. Evans, Thornton should be able to generate much better shots.
Even the slashes to the hoop are bad.

87-89, 54 seconds left.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:33 PM
This is like the Bucks win. Kings weren't anything stellar, but the Bucks/Pacers collapsed completely so the Kings clawed their way up at the end.

They'll score from the free throw line. Evans will drain both!

01-18-2012, 10:35 PM

Granger with the FT lane violation. Nice choke. You must have "Sacramento" on your jersey.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:39 PM
Give the ball to little Thomas to burn clock and make some FTs
nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:40 PM
Sorry Grant, Thomas didn't run the team that well. He was ok, but not starting PG caliber.
bloatedmaniac
01-18-2012, 10:41 PM
Garcia to the line...almost turned it over. Questionable choice of inbounder imo. i'm surprised Thornton didn't try to shoot it.

nuraman00
01-18-2012, 10:43 PM
Garcia with a clutch steal! Kings didn't really deserve to win, and Indiana choked, but they'll take it.

Nope, it was a battle of two bad offenses. Neither team was making shots, even the easy ones.

30% FG shooting helps those numbers lol. I mean the Pacers had 35 defensive rebounds. Thats a lot of misses to catch.

01-19-2012, 10:16 AM
OK, I missed the game. But, we shot 30% from the field, ouch!
Outside of Jason Thompson, our highest shooting % player is DeMarcus at 42%. lol
We are currently shooting the worst % ever, for a team, in the shot clock era.
Gunshot
01-19-2012, 10:57 AM
Thompson should really be a starter every game....not that he's a beast, but he's all around the second best big we got

OMG... OMG, that really isn't good. A bad shooting team and we trade for Salmons and sign Hayes. Ugh. At least I can undertand the Fredette signing in that context.

Lol at some of the comments by pacers fans:
"But there was one play i was particularly mad about and that was the little short fry making that fast break layup with a minute left to them up by 3. Granger should have put him on his *** or blocked that shot.
Also that 5th foul on Hibbert was complete BS. He maintained his verticality on his jump. This league needs to fix letting short fry's run and jump into big men just to get a foul. "

A bunch of teams from 1957-60 were worse. But the Kings are the worst since 1961.

They asked the same with Jimmer when Isaiah is clearly outplaying him. Busts out there are no individuals, and we only play good or bad as a team. Well, this team is bad because of individuals who play like crap Mr. Smart.
I really don't know why they expect Salmons (assuming they do) to snap out of his slump. He's routinely been piss poor for his career when he's not a focal point and it's not like he's riding some 10 game slump like Grant wants to make it out to be. Dude shot 41% last year too and his defense was sub-par.

Salmons is a slasher (was a slasher).....never could shoot
but this year he looks really weak to me, like he's lost 15lbs or something
Yeah, I've noticed he's getting pushed around a bit more and seems much slower off the dribble on the defensive side.

Definitely, Salmons is just not playing with heart. AT ALL. When he dribbles, when he shoots, all of it seems out of pace, out of rhythm, and just unnecessary and not pretty to watch. He needs to accept his role and the true undercover identity of this team, which is a great passing team. Salmons thinks we hired him to be our main scorer which is completely false. We need him to play great D and hit open 3s and pass the ball. Something that he seems to be failing at miserably. I wish we could switch JT's salary with Salmons salary because Salmons doesn't deserve even 10% of it.

Salmons is 4th on the team in FGA, with 8.7. He's not trying to be the main scorer. Fredette is close to passing him with 8.0 FGA. Fredette is shooting .333 from the field, while taking almost as many FGA as Salmons. That's still 5% worse than Salmons.
Fredette also has a higher usage rate (percent of possessions a player looks to score while on the floor), 19.4%. Salmons is 10th on the team in Usage Rate, 15.5%.
His problem isn't accepting his role. He's taking way less shots than Evans, Cousins, Thornton.
His problem is making shots. He can't make them this year.
He's also not getting to the foul line 3-4 times a game like expected.

His FG% has been inconsistent, regardless of his role, IMO.
His FG% in 2005-2006 for Philly was 42%. That was a thin team.
He shot 47.3% in his 21 games with Chicago, and that 2008-2009 team was closest to Sacramento in terms of roles. They still had other scorers ahead of him, like the Kings do now. Then in the playoffs, he averaged 18 points and had a 36 point game against Boston.
He shot 46.7% in 2009-2010 for Milwaukee, but that team was thinner. That was more like the older Sacramento Kings, or Philly, IMO.
He's never played for a team like Sacramento with 3 scorers better than him (Evans, Cousins, Thornton), so its' hard to say that he hasn't succeeded or failed in this role before, when its never been present.
He could just be breaking down this year, this is his 10th year in the league and 18, 578 minutes.
I don't think his FG% this year is a function of his role, as he's had both poor shooting and shooting shooting seasons with thinner teams. He could just be getting older.

come on now....we are still very early in the season
given time this team will get it together and get the record for before AND after the implementation of the shot clock
have faith
The Detroit Falcons shot 24.6% in 1946-1947. The only way that happens on this Kings team is if Mikki Moore, Eugene Jeter, and Jimmer Fredette take a combined 100% of the shots for the rest of the season.
