A friend passed along that on November 1st, the day that was supposed to be Opening Day, writers, bloggers, and fans are going to have a Day Of Silence about the NBA.

From The Basketball Jones's Tas Melas said, on Twitter:

"What I'd like most during this NBA lockout is a day of silence: no writings, no tweets, no media regarding the NBA at all."

Because, (from another person -- the friend): "we fans, who have been by and large ignored throughout the bloody ordeal, making our own show of solidarity by speaking louder than words through silence. . . . . Their biggest threat, fear, is apathy, irrelevance."

Do you know Tas? I don't. I don't think I've read The Basketball Jones before either.

I do a bit, he's a nice guy. The Basketball Jones is a group of Canadian writers that cover the NBA. I don't really read it either, it's a little different. Skeets, who's really their main writer, used to be the Editor of Yahoo's NBA blog but left for the Score.

I can see this happening from a few select writers/media people, but I don't think everyone will participate.
