. . . . was on 1050 AM today, and he kept saying today's Raiders-Chargers game would be a "pillow fight". LOL.

He also said he just sees average talent in the Chargers.

But that in 2008, they were 4-8 at one point, won their last 4 games, and beat the Colts in the first round.

Raiders are beating the Chargers ass so far

Norv Turner, that's all.

The past few years, the talent on that roster was Super Bowl contender worthy. Norv Turner could make Jerry Rice in his prime look shitty. He's that talented.

The radio host said that if the Chargers lost today, he'd have to take a bunch of calls on Turner the next day. He said he just wanted a monkey to answer the phones tomorrow if that happened.

He said Turner wasn't much of a motivator. To the host, he doesn't understand why motivation is so important (because they're professional players), but that being around players, several players mention motivation.

He said during a game last year, Turner cried at halftime. That lead the Chargers to rally from a halftime deficit and beat the Titans.

Tuner is seriously awful. He's a fine offensive coordinator, but like Wade Phillips, he has no business being a head coach. Some guys have it - some don't. He doesn't.

The guys don't listen to him - he has no authority over the players, they're constantly yelling and screaming at him. The players are seriously lacking any discipline, making mental errors and stupid penalties consistently - he always seems outcoached, even when they win.

I mean, when you have the leagues #1 offense and the leagues #1 defense in the same year and miss the playoffs? You're doing something seriously wrong. lol

Phillip Rivers is pretty awful to be fair to Norv

WOW.

So they're almost as bad as the Raiders? I always hear about the Raiders making stupid penalties, never other teams.

What year was this? What statistic were you using to rate the defense and offense, btw? (Just curious.)

I've never watched the Chargers before, but I do like how he makes quick decisions.

A few QBs from last year's playoffs were slower, and I didn't like that.

I don't know what's up with Rivers this year - he was always in the "top 5" mentions in past years. His play sorta reminds of Tyreke last year - trying to do a little more cause of an injury hampering them which ends up just making them play worse. Rivers just doesn't look right.

Last season. It was just the "overall offense" and "overall defense" stats rated by the NFL.

They finished the season as the 8th team in NFL history to rank #1 in overall offense (395.6 yards/game), and overall defense (271.6 yards/game), and became only the 2nd of those teams to not make the playoffs (1953 Eagles 7–4–1)

And you could just watch that way Norv handled that last possession - the timeouts, etc. What competent coach would give the Raiders the ball back in that situation? lol

Incomplete pass. Huge call.

Are there a lot of Raiders fans in SD? Or do crowds always sound like they're constantly cheering during the game? I rarely hear booing.

Tons. It's like that at most Padre/Charger games though. Whenever any large MLB team (Dodgers, Giants, Cards, Cubs) or large NFL team (Packers, Raiders, etc) it turns into about 70% visitor fans.

These broadcasters seem to use the phrase "jump ball" a lot.
